My name is Amanda JoLynn Peebles, and I'm 10 years old I have a big sister, she's 14 and a little brother he is 7 Mommy saw some dots on me on Feb 4th 2008. the dots are called petechiae. So she took me to our DR. who took some blood to test and our Dr. called the very next day and said we had to go to the childrens hospital heme-onc clinic I had more blood drawn. I got platelets that same day. I had to go back a few days later to get a bone marrow/biopsy. I was scarred. After a few days we got a diagnosis of Very Sevear Aplastic Anemia. My brother and sister had to have HLA typeing done and they are not a match. I had to start immunosuppressive therapy(ATG) on Feb 24th 2008.

I am going to the Dr. on Mondays and Fridays Some times i get blood and platelets and some times i don't. I have to take Benadryl so i dont get hives when i get the blood it is used as a premed to help me tolerate the blood. I also take lots of pills and I cant go to school because I could get very sick. I love all the prayers everybody is saying for me. The cards are the best!!! Between our prayers and all of your prayers We will beat this!
