A Note From Our Founder:

My name is Stacy Moriarty, I am the founder of the Miracle Party Foundation. I am a mother to 3 beautiful daughters Nicole , Kennedy , Kerrigan , one son Kaden and grandmother “Gracy” to Mersai Nevaeh .  We currently live in Colorado but my roots are in Indiana where most of my family live.  I was in the United States Air Force and fell in love with Colorado so here we are.  I share my life with my best friend and biggest supporter David.  We live a very busy life in the childhood cancer world and know all too well what it is like to be a cancer family.  My daughter Kennedy was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2007 at the young age of 10.  My father, Denny, was diagnosed and died to cancer just 2 months after my daughter was diagnosed.  Our lives turned upside down in a very short time; however thru our faith in God, we were able to turn the worst possible scenario into a positive, life changing experience.

My vision for the Miracle Party actually began the week Kennedy was diagnosed.  I can recall telling another mom (Mary Anne) in the hallway of Children’s hospital that when this was all over with we were going to have the biggest “end of chemo” party ever!  Her son Jimmy had just been diagnosed and we were numb but found laughter in life!   Little did I know, that party would be over a year away from that date.  Kennedy’s treatment lasted over an entire year at The Children’s Hospital in Denver.  She had 3 ribs removed, over 40 intense and aggressive chemotherapy and many setbacks, reactions, trials and tribulations.  Childhood cancer is a horrible, oftentimes, unthinkable disease and not so easy to look at let alone talk about.  I like to stir things up a bit.  I headed to Congress for funding and celebrate every aspect of life when others would like to forget what is really happening!  Kennedy is a survivor like so many other unheard childhood cancer stories.  Kennedy has scans every 3 months but is currently cancer free! She is a normal teenager.  Life is worth celebrating!

I decided to plan Kennedy’s end of chemo party, which originally was to be a BBQ.  It’s funny how things so quickly change.  The more I looked around, it was obvious there were about 10 of us finishing treatment at the same time.  So, I said heck, let’s throw a “BIG” party for everybody!  We had meetings in the conference room at the hospital while our children were still in treatment, we solicited funds, volunteers, hired help at the last minute but pulled off the Miracle Party 2008 in September with a Masquerade Ball theme.  It was fabulous with over 700 attendee’s. The first year we were able to give back to our Miracle Families and donate $5,000 each to the following: The Kayla Weber Believe Foundation, Cops Fighting Cancer Foundation and the Just in Time Foundation.  We knew we were on to something HUGE!

It was quickly time to start planning Miracle Party 2009! Our vision was bigger and better.  With our application for our own 501(c)(3) in process, The Kayla Weber Believe Foundation supported our second event that raised awareness to childhood cancer.  We made the second Miracle Party a Superhero theme as we believe the real superheroes are the children and the families affected by childhood cancer.  We had over 1,100 attendees and were able to let the cancer families attend for free.  We had so many things for the children to do from Kasey Kraft table to bounce houses.  Delicious food and desserts.  Great entertainment, dancing, laughter and fun!  Face painting, temporary tattoos and so much more.  Our vision grows and grows with new ideas and exciting themes each year.  We had the military volunteer as well as high school teams.

It is Miracle Party 2010!  The biggest and best party yet!!.  Our real celebrities and superstars are the cancer families and they will be given the Golden Carpet treatment!  No need for Red Carpet…Gold is the color of the childhood cancer ribbon and a Golden Miracle Awards night it will be.  Come dressed in the most formal or in comfortable jeans.  It is totally up to you but be ready for the Paparazzi and the glitz and glam of the Miracle Party.  We are so excited this year to provide limo rides and interactive play for all ages.  We have many surprises and are keeping many secrets till the night of the party!

We need your help to pull this year’s event off so it is bigger and better than the years past.  Sign yourself up to volunteer, register your cancer child on this website.  Get involved.  We need you and our childhood cancer community needs us.  We would like to get as many out of state children here to Denver to enjoy the one-of-a-kind Miracle Party.  Help us make a difference.

We believe in Miracles as Kennedy and so many of her friends are celebrating life daily as survivors but we never forget our Miracle Angel friends.  We fight on their behalf and believe in the future of our survivors.

I will continue to make a difference as long as I can.  I promise this to the cancer families.  Those diagnosed, those still in battle and those who have lost their lives as their families were hoping for a cure.  We will do what we can to make a difference and continue to celebrate life at every stage.

The Miracle Party is for you.  We do this for the children.  We do this for the future!  To bring our community together as one!!!.

Our foundation has the best board of directors and volunteers any founder could wish for.  I am blessed daily by all of their hard work.  I thank each of them for making this the greatest foundation!  I am so lucky to have each of them working so hard for the children!  Let’s make Miracle Party 2010 another fantastic event in Denver!

God Bless you all!
